A native of Long Island, Esther Marie is an accomplished and internationally recognized artist whose work is regularly featured in prestigious gallery exhibitions, museums, juried art shows, auctions and events across the Northeast Coast of the United States. Her art has been showcased in diverse international venues, including in South Korea, and she maintains a strong presence with clients throughout New York City and beyond.
Esther Marie’s artistic achievements include being awarded a fellowship and being selected for a highly esteemed residency at the Chautauqua Institute in upstate New York, as well as receiving a full scholarship to the Vermont Studio Center. Her global artistic exploration further extended through her participation in a Rotary International Exchange program, where she immersed herself in local culture, engaged with native artisans, and produced a diverse body of work using traditional regional techniques, including pottery, painting, and silk screen dyeing with indigenous natural blue-green grass dyes.
Her paintings are housed in numerous private and permanent collections, and she is especially known for her mastery of Plein Aire, collaborations with other artists, and abstract painting. Esther Marie earned multiple accolades, including “Best in Show” at the Northport Plein Aire event and selection for the exclusive Heckscher Museum of Art Long Island Biennial. She continues to exhibit extensively in galleries across the Northeast United States and is actively engaged in traveling to sketch and study landscapes worldwide.
In addition to her painting practice, Esther Marie is an educator, serving as an assistant professor for introduction to drawing as an adjunct professor on Long Island for over eight years. She also enjoys a variety of personal pursuits, including traveling for landscapes, practicing yoga and meditation, occasional dancing, writing and playing chess. While she rarely reads her poetry in public, she remains passionate about the creative process in all its forms.
